About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Learning Designer to lead the design, development, and implementation of innovative learning experiences across Macquarie Business School. Reporting to the Learning Design and Production Lead, you will work under the broad direction of the Head of Educational Services and Deputy Dean (Education and Employability).
In this role, you will:
Design, develop, and implement high-quality curriculum and learning resources across blended, online, and face-to-face delivery, providing expert advice to academic staff on pedagogy and technology
Contribute to responsible integration of AI in learning and teaching,advisingacademics on assessment redesign and the ethical use of generative AI tools in curriculum
Manage complex learning design projects from scoping through to delivery, coordinating specialist contributions and maintaining effective stakeholder communication to ensure sustainable, efficient outcomes
Proactively contribute to the development of innovation in pedagogy and technology-enhanced learning, collaborating with stakeholders across the Faculty and University to ensure learning and teaching practices remain contemporary and evidence-informed
Partner with academic staff, central university teams, and cross-faculty stakeholders to develop tailored educational solutions, while coaching and mentoring other learning designers to build team capability

About You
As the Senior Learning Designer, you will have:
Relevant tertiary qualification in education or learning technologies, and/or an equivalent combination of relevant knowledge, training, and experience
Extensive knowledge of contemporary adult learning principles, including online and blended learning pedagogies, and proven experience implementing innovative learning and teaching strategies
Demonstrated experience managing and delivering learning design projects, including project scoping, coordinating specialist contributions, andmaintainingeffective stakeholder communication
Demonstrated ability to advise academic staff on the responsible and ethical integration of AI tools in learning design, assessment, and teaching practices, ensuring the quality, integrity, and credibility of assessment
Understanding of quality assurance frameworks in higher education, including experience supporting assurance of learning processes and/or accreditation requirements (e.g. AACSB)
Strong working knowledge of institutional LMS platforms and experience designing and implementing education programs using web-based platforms and/or content management systems
Proven experience collaborating with academic staff, subject matter experts, and cross-functional teams to deliver effective learning design outcomes
A commitment to collaborative, service-oriented practice focused on continuous improvement and agility
