Roles & Responsibilities:
Equipment Reliability and Maintenance Strategy
- Develop and implement robust preventive and predictive maintenance programs for all mechanical, electrical, and utility systems.
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for equipment failures to prevent recurrence and improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
- Optimize maintenance schedules and procedures to minimize downtime and maximize production uptime in the API manufacturing facility.
- Oversee the execution of routine and breakdown maintenance activities, ensuring timely and efficient resolution of issues.
- Manage spare parts inventory effectively to support continuous operations and critical equipment availability.
System Operations and Management
- Coordinate with production teams to schedule maintenance activities that minimize disruption to manufacturing processes.
- Implement energy conservation measures and optimize utility consumption across the facility.
- Manage and troubleshoot instrumentation and control systems to ensure accurate process parameters.
- Conduct regular inspections and performance monitoring of process equipment, pumps, motors, and electrical systems.
- Ensure the smooth and efficient operation of critical utility systems, including boilers, HVAC, compressed air, and water treatment plants.
Compliance and Safety
- Identify and mitigate potential safety hazards associated with equipment operation and maintenance tasks.
- Participate in internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and support related to maintenance operations.
- Champion a strong safety culture within the maintenance team, ensuring adherence to all safety protocols and LOTO procedures.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for all maintenance procedures, equipment history, and calibration records.
- Ensure all maintenance activities strictly adhere to cGMP standards, regulatory guidelines, and internal SOPs.
Team Leadership and Development
- Assist in the development and implementation of training programs for maintenance personnel.
- Evaluate team performance and provide constructive feedback for continuous improvement.
- Conduct training sessions on new equipment, maintenance techniques, and safety procedures.
- Foster a collaborative environment within the maintenance team and with other departments.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior maintenance technicians and contract staff.
Project Management and Continuous Improvement
- Contribute to the development and revision of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for maintenance tasks.
- Prepare detailed reports on maintenance performance, equipment reliability, and cost analysis.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams on process improvements and equipment modifications.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies and maintenance practices to enhance operational efficiency.
- Lead or participate in engineering projects related to equipment upgrades, installations, and facility expansions.
