Job Description
Summary: Lytx, Inc. is a technology company focused on improving safety on roadways, and they are seeking a Business Development Representative I. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for potential customers, conducting outreach and qualifying leads for the Account Executive team while learning the sales cycle.
Responsibilities:
- Respond to inbound marketing-qualified leads (MQLs) within defined SLAs, including demo requests, web form submissions, content downloads, and campaign responses. Speed-to-lead is a primary performance metric in this role
- Qualify inbound leads against ICP criteria, assessing fit across fleet size, industry vertical, decision-maker authority, and business need before advancing to an Account Executive or LytxOne Partner
- Conduct initial discovery conversations with inbound prospects to understand their current environment, pain points, and urgency, and deliver a clear, compelling introduction to Lytx’s value proposition
- Schedule high-quality meetings for Account Executives, ensuring each handoff includes a documented summary of the prospect’s situation, fit assessment, and any relevant context captured during qualification
- Effectively manage and prioritize an active queue of inbound leads, ensuring that no lead goes unworked. Execute consistent follow-up sequences on leads that do not convert after the first contact
- Partner with Account Executives and Marketing to maintain feedback loops on lead quality, ICP alignment, and campaign performance, helping to improve the inbound pipeline from source through conversion
- Maintain accurate and complete lead and activity records in CRM, capturing qualification notes, disposition, and next steps for every inbound interaction
- Use Gong to review your own calls, internalize coaching feedback, and sharpen qualification and discovery skills, with a goal of continuous improvement in connect-to-meeting conversion rate
Required Qualifications:
- 0 to 1 year of experience in sales, business development, customer service, or a client-facing role. Prior B2B sales experience is preferred but not required. This is an entry-level role and we will train the right person
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate a clear value proposition across multiple stakeholder levels
- A results-oriented mindset with high personal accountability and the discipline to work independently toward defined activity and pipeline targets
- Comfort with high-volume outreach and a resilient, process-driven approach to prospecting
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple accounts and outreach sequences simultaneously
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with CRM or enterprise sales tools (Salesforce preferred) is a plus, but not required
