Job Description
Summary: LVT is redefining how businesses operate in the physical world with AI-driven solutions. The Mechanical Engineer Intern will work alongside experienced professionals to apply academic theory in real-world engineering, focusing on the mechanical lifecycle from design to testing.
Responsibilities:
- Execute Design & Analysis by assisting in the development and refinement of mechanical systems using CAD software, with a focus on optimizing for performance and cost
- Lead Prototyping & Testing initiatives, including the creation of physical models and conducting rigorous tests to evaluate component reliability and functionality
- Maintain Engineering Documentation by contributing to technical drawings, detailed specifications, and comprehensive reports throughout the development process
- Engage in Cross-Functional Collaboration, working closely with electrical and software engineering teams to achieve integrated project goals
- Support Research & Development by staying informed on emerging technologies and industry best practices to enhance LVT’s technological edge
- Apply Proactive Problem Solving to troubleshoot mechanical issues and propose innovative engineering solutions for complex challenges
- Collaborate on Multi-Disciplinary Projects, ensuring mechanical designs seamlessly integrate with the broader LVT platform and hardware ecosystem
Required Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Mechanical Engineering, with at least two years of study remaining
- A strong academic background in core mechanical engineering principles and a basic understanding of manufacturing processes and materials
- Previous experience with CAD software is preferred; must be able to translate concepts into detailed technical drawings
- Excellent problem-solving capabilities with a proactive and structured approach to addressing engineering challenges
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work successfully in a team-oriented environment
- An eagerness to learn, high adaptability, and a genuine passion for the field of mechanical engineering
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience with CAD software is preferred
