Reliability Test Intern at Lunar Energy in Mountain View, CA

Summary: Lunar Energy is a fast-growing company committed to transitioning homes to 100% clean energy. The Reliability Test Intern will be responsible for ensuring the validation of home energy products through various testing methods and collaboration with engineering teams. Responsibilities: - Perform and execute various types of testing as part of our hardware validation process - Design and build test stands for PCBA testing - Thoughtful use of AI assistants and coding tools (e.g., Claude, Gemini…etc) in your engineering workflow - including good judgment about when outputs need verification, awareness of confidentiality practices and a strong vision on how to structure your test code - Specify test stand equipment and instrumentation - Work with technicians for designing and building test stands - Write Python scripts to enable test automation and process data coming out of the test - For test failures and field failures, aid failure analysis investigations and countermeasure validation with design team, reliability team and failure analysis lab - Collaborate with electrical, mechanical and firmware engineers across the company to develop thoughtful test methodologies - Analyze test data, write test reports and help extract important takeaways from the data - Contribute to various test infrastructure improvement efforts (ranging from contributing new features and functions to the codebase, creating custom test equipment…etc) Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in engineering in progress - Working knowledge of electronics/circuit analysis required - Highly curious with hands-on project experience Preferred Qualifications: - Mechatronics or electrical engineering background preferred - Working knowledge of programming, Python and object oriented programming experience preferred - Experience with test equipment like power supplies, multimeters, DAQs, various sensors/instrumentation…etc preferred - Familiarity with testing embedded/IoT systems or wireless communications (Wifi/mesh networks/BLE) is a plus - Basic mechanical design experience/familiarity with CAD software is a plus Required Skills: Python, Object Oriented Programming, Electronics, Circuit Analysis, Power Supplies, Multimeters, Data Acquisition Systems, Sensors, Instrumentation, Embedded Systems Testing, Wireless Communications, Mechanical Design, CAD Software
