Job Description
Summary: Luminate is the entertainment industry’s preeminent data and insights partner, serving as the single source of truth for record labels, film studios, talent agencies, and every part of the music and entertainment ecosystem. They are seeking a full-stack software engineering intern to join their Data Ingestion team, responsible for delivering scalable engineering solutions and ensuring the timely transfer of information from data providers into their data warehouse.
Responsibilities:
- Work with your team to deliver scalable engineering solutions that affect Luminate Data’s product roadmap
- Deploy code and cloud-based infrastructure utilizing best practices and tools in modern software development, including cutting-edge AI developer tools
- Develop not just code, but all other parts of the stack: test suites, developer tools, documentation, etc
- Tackle bugs and tech hygiene tickets from the engineering backlog
- Contribute back to our engineering practice in ways that best demonstrate your own unique strengths. We strive for continuous improvement!
- Work with stakeholders including data, design, product teams and assisting them with data-related technical issues
Required Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Available for 8-12 weeks between June-August 2026 to work in our New York office
- Passion for data quality and continuous, iterative deployment strategies
- Initiative to grow collaboration, communication, empathy, humility, and software engineering skills
- Work with your team to deliver scalable engineering solutions that affect Luminate Data's product roadmap
- Deploy code and cloud-based infrastructure utilizing best practices and tools in modern software development
- Develop not just code, but all other parts of the stack: test suites, developer tools, documentation, etc
- Tackle bugs and tech hygiene tickets from the engineering backlog
- Contribute back to our engineering practice in ways that best demonstrate your own unique strengths
- Work with stakeholders including data, design, product teams and assisting them with data-related technical issues
Preferred Qualifications:
- A solid foundation of Computer Science fundamentals, including best practices for cloud-based infrastructure, data quality and validation testing, and continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) patterns
- Experience writing code in Python, SQL, and/or Java
- Experience with infrastructure and CI/CD tools including Github Actions, Kubernetes, and terraform
- Experience with data engineering tools including DBT, Apache Spark, and Snowflake
- Interest in the entertainment and music industry
- Strong communication skills and a desire to learn and grow as an engineer
