Job Summary
The Dishwasher/Steward is responsible for the daily cleanliness, sanitation, and upkeep of the kitchen and its supporting areas. This position operates the dishwashing machine and three-compartment sink during both preparation and service periods while ensuring that clean cookware, dishes, utensils, and equipment remain available to the kitchen team.
The Dishwasher/Steward is responsible for the daily cleanliness, sanitation, and upkeep of the kitchen and its supporting areas. This position operates the dishwashing machine and three-compartment sink during both preparation and service periods while ensuring that clean cookware, dishes, utensils, and equipment remain available to the kitchen team.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Cleaning kitchen equipment Linen collection and organization Maintaining clean floors, walls, refrigeration areas, hallways, and stairwells Keeping dishwashing and waste areas clean and organized Following chemical-handling and sanitation procedures Assisting with opening, closing, and scheduled deep-cleaning duties
Dishwasher/Stewards report directly to the chef team. When operational needs allow, this position may also assist with basic food-preparation tasks. Candidates should be willing to learn the fundamental needs of the kitchen and step in to support the team when necessary.
