Job Description
Candidate should be BE in Mechanical Engineering with minimum 15-18 years, or Diploma in
Mechanical Engineering with 18-20 years of relevant experience in design and execution of PHE and
Fire Protection systems for residential and commercial projects.
Candidate should meet the below job description.
Technical
- Good understanding of local and international design standards, codes & local authority
requirements.
- Sound knowledge of design calculations such as water demand estimation, pump head
calculation, pipe sizing, STP sizing, tank sizing, infra services sizing, etc.
- Sound knowledge of the design process from concept to VFC and information flow at each
stage.
- Should be good at space planning for services.
- Should be experienced in review of design documents from service consultants.
- Should have good knowledge of rainwater harvesting systems, WTP, STP and solid waste
management.
- Good understanding of architectural and structural drawings and design intent.
- Coordination-level understanding of other services such as HVAC, Electrical, PA System, CCTV
System, BMS System, Communication System, etc.
- Good at coordination with relevant stakeholders for follow-up and approvals.
- Good at review and approval of contractors' shop drawings and material submittals.
- Attending site meetings and timely review and response to RFIs and site queries.
- Coordination with commercial and procurement teams for cost inputs and tender technical
discussions.
- Active participation in meetings and discussions with valid inputs.
- Technical review of products for rate contracts.
- Coordination and document preparation for authority submissions.
- Should be able to provide real-time solutions wherever possible.
Design Thinking & Problem-Solving
- Evaluates design options on total cost of ownership and constructability, not just first cost
able to build the trade-off case, not just execute a brief.
- Challenges consultant designs with independent first-principles calculation checks rather than
accepting submittals at face value.
- Anticipates downstream coordination clashes (structural, architectural, other MEP services) at
concept/schematic stage rather than resolving them at shop-drawing stage.
- Comfortable proposing a design deviation with a reasoned justification when the standard
approach doesn't fit a project's constraints.
- Track record of at least one instance of value engineering or design optimisation with a
quantified outcome (cost, space, energy, or schedule saved).
Project Management
- Owns the deliverable schedule end-to-end — builds the micro-schedule, tracks it against
actuals, and escalates slippage early rather than at the deadline.
- Manages multiple consultants/contractors and workstreams in parallel without dropping quality
on any one.
- Structures decisions and approvals to keep the critical path moving — sequences RFIs,
submittals, and authority approvals rather than handling them reactively.
- Comfortable owning risk and budget conversations, not just design content — reviews
consultant invoices and contractor variation claims with a critical eye.
People Management & Stakeholder Influence
- Demonstrated experience leading and developing a design/site team — not just individually
competent, but capable of raising the team's output.
- Able to hold a technical position under pressure from senior stakeholders while remaining
collaborative — influences without relying on hierarchy.
- Builds working relationships with consultants and contractors that get better outcomes than the
contract alone would produce.
- Communicates technical risk and trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders (commercial,
procurement, leadership) in terms they can act on.
- A team player with a positive approach to change, and good people-management skill.
Skills
- AutoCAD knowledge for review of drawings, with basic drafting skill.
- Proficient with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Good communication and decision-making.

- Experience and knowledge of lift traffic analysis.
- Experience and knowledge of HVAC systems.
