Job Description
Summary: Locus Robotics is a leader in the eCommerce order fulfillment optimization space, seeking a Product Quality Intern for Summer 2026. The intern will work on hands-on projects to improve robot quality, develop triage guides, and analyze data to support the Product Quality team.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in assessing and synthesizing replacement and refurb data to determine wear out metrics across multiple product lines
- Collaborate with the Quality Team to develop and maintain supplier and field quality data for key investigations
- Support the qualification of new parts and processes as part of NPI projects, including preliminary supplier and Contract Manufacturer process qualification
- Learn various test methods to help diagnose failure modes of the robot's critical control systems, the unit’s on-board computer, obstacle detection, cameras, and drive sub-assemblies
- Document triage procedures for Vector based on diagnostic testing and failure analysis
- Analyze diagnostic failure data to identify opportunities for improvement in robot sub-assemblies and overall design
- Contribute to additional Quality Team initiatives, including Vector, ESG, and QMS-related projects, as needed
Required Qualifications:
- Ability to work an onsite role (Mon - Fri, 9am - 5pm) for 2026 Summer internship period (May - August)
- Currently a rising junior or senior pursuing a BS or MS in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Systems, or a related engineering field
- Strong interest in gaining hands-on experience supporting the growth and improvement of quality systems, including defining operational processes and supplier expectations at Locus Robotics
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
- Demonstrated business acumen, adaptability in task assignments, independent thinking, and a strong sense of ownership and responsibility for execution
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills with the ability to effectively engage with internal and external stakeholders
