Job Description
Summary: Locus Robotics is a leader in the rapidly growing eCommerce order fulfillment optimization space. As a Manufacturing Engineering Intern, you’ll be involved in designing, building, and optimizing processes for robotic production while gaining hands-on experience in fixture and process design and lab management.
Responsibilities:
- Support NPI builds of complex electro-mechanical assemblies, including process development, documentation, and validation activities
- Assist in the design and development of tooling, fixtures, and test setups to support assembly operations and process controls
- Coordinate with engineering and supply chain teams to procure components and materials for fixture and test equipment builds
- Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to optimize manufacturing processes using lean methodologies
- Maintain documentation within the Quality Management System (QMS), including ECOs, validations, and related records
Required Qualifications:
- Ability to work onsite (Mon-Fri, 9am - 5pm) for 2026 Summer internship period (May - August)
- Currently enrolled as an undergraduate (rising junior or senior) pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering or a related field
- Experience using CAD applications such as SolidWorks or Creo for solid modeling and drawing interpretation
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve production and assembly issues
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills with the ability to effectively engage with internal and external stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior internship experience in a product-based electromechanical environment is preferred; hands-on experience through academic labs or project work will also be considered
