Job Description
Reference: KS19022
Hybrid working: 3 days in office
Hundreds of convention events a year, high-value technical packages across staging, AV, lighting and sound, and a warm pipeline with no cold calling from day one. One of the UK's largest convention venue operators, an established in-house technical team behind every sale, and an OTE just under £50k as the Event Technical Sales Executive who builds this revenue stream first.
- Capped commission around 50% of base, OTE just under £50k
- 25 days holiday rising to 26, plus bank holidays
- Private medical insurance, fully funded
- Pension matching up to 7%
- Free onsite parking and lunch when office based
The Company
This is a thriving large-scale UK convention venue operator running hundreds of events annually across multiple spaces, from corporate conferences and association events to awards dinners and large-scale productions. The in-house technical production team is well established, the sales infrastructure is in place, and a new revenue stream is now being built from within. People who join tend to stay, and the culture is collaborative by design.
The Role
The Event Technical Sales Executive sits between the conventions sales team and the in-house production team, identifying technical upsell opportunities across every event that comes through the door and converting them into revenue against quarterly targets.
- Sell technical production packages including staging, AV, lighting, sound and streaming into convention and corporate events
- Identify upsell opportunities across an existing event pipeline using internal sales systems
- Conduct site visits and intro calls to understand client requirements and recommend solutions
- Build strong working relationships across sales, production and operations teams
- Work to quarterly P&L targets as an Event Technical Sales Executive, earning commission on everything you sell
- Contribute to expanding the revenue stream into graphics, wifi and exhibition services over time
The Candidate
The right candidate brings a solid grounding in event technical production, whether from a sales or operational background, and knows their way around staging, AV, lighting and sound. An Event Technical Sales Executive in this setting needs consultative selling to come naturally, along with the ability to build relationships across internal departments without prompting.
A background in convention or corporate events is a strong fit, though candidates from related technical sales environments are equally welcome. What matters most is commercial confidence, genuine technical knowledge and the ability to work collaboratively across a busy operation.
What's on offer is real: commercial autonomy, a warm pipeline, an OTE just under £50k, and a well-resourced in-house team behind every conversation. Booking for the Event Technical Sales Executive role is already underway, so put your application in now and we will be in touch to take things forward.
