Accounting Intern at Little Sprouts, LLC in Lawrence, MA

Summary: Little Sprouts, LLC is a subsidiary of Babilou Family, providing early education and child care across New England. They are seeking an Accounting Intern who will be responsible for accounts payable and receivable processing, ensuring timely payment of invoices, and resolving discrepancies. Responsibilities: - Review incoming invoices for accuracy - Code/Route invoices through our Stampli approval system - Ensure invoices are paid in a timely and accurate manner - Resolve AP invoicing and statement discrepancies received from organization vendors - Assist individual assigned schools with processing monthly/weekly billings - Prepare accounts receivable reconciliations and supporting documentation related to areas of responsibility - Resolve any AR billing discrepancies between the customers and schools - Perform data entry and analysis in MS Excel - Other duties and projects as assigned Required Qualifications: - Working toward your bachelor's degree in accounting or finance - 1-2 years of accounting experience is a plus (internships or part-time roles are welcome) - Strong knowledge of GAAP required and IFRS a plus - Ability to roll up sleeves and be proactive to obtain needed information - Strong computer skills, including solid skills in Microsoft Excel - Excellent verbal communication skills are required for communicating issues and providing concise, thoughtful updates to senior management - Excellent people, team building, and leadership skills - Solid technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills - Available to work part-time (minimum 2 days/week) and is flexible to support occasional off-hours needs - Is able to sit for long periods of time at a computer in a primarily sedentary position; manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals Required Skills: GAAP knowledge, Microsoft Excel Important Skills: Accounts payable processing, Accounts receivable processing Nice-to-Have Skills: Team building, Analytical skills
