Under the direction and supervision of the Director of Admission this position is responsible for friendly, accommodating and professional assistance to patients and visitors who call and/or come to the hospital. The clerk is responsible for admitting patients to the hospital (In-patients, Out-patients, and Emergency), according to established policies and procedures. Processing all related records and acting as a liaison with patient’s family or responsible parties at the time of admission. Other responsibilities include various clerical duties, switchboard, and other duties assigned. Maintains strict confidentiality and discretion in a tactful manner at all times. 

Requirements

  

  • Work Location: with frequent visits to other      departments and office 
  • Physical Demands: Requires sitting and standing for      extended periods of time, requires extensive use of a computer and      repetitive hand movements in the performance of duties Visual and hearing      acuity pertinent to communicate with the patients. 
  • Equipment Operated: Standard office equipment
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds 
  • Ability to work under      pressure. 
  • Must possess the ability to make      independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • Is subject to frequent      interruptions.
  • Ability to organize and      prioritize work to meet deadline.
  • Fast-paced environment
