About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and motivated R&D Chemist to join our pharmaceutical intermediates manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of organic chemistry, process development, and scale-up of chemical reactions from laboratory to production.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimise manufacturing processes for pharmaceutical intermediates.
• Design, conduct and document laboratory experiments.
• Scale up laboratory processes for commercial production.
• Troubleshoot production-related technical issues and improve process efficiency.
• Prepare batch manufacturing procedures and process documentation.
• Work closely with the production and quality control teams during technology transfer.
• Evaluate raw materials, reaction conditions, solvents and yields to improve product quality and reduce costs.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental and quality standards.
• Maintain accurate laboratory records and prepare technical reports.

Qualifications

• M.Sc. in Chemistry (Organic Chemistry preferred).
• Candidates with relevant industrial experience in pharmaceutical intermediates or fine chemicals will be preferred

Experience

• 5 to 20 years of relevant experience in process R&D within the pharmaceutical or speciality chemical industry.

Desired Skills

Strong understanding of organic synthesis and reaction mechanisms.

Experience with process optimisation and scale-up.

Knowledge of analytical techniques such as HPLC, GC and related laboratory instruments.

Good problem-solving and documentation skills.

Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
