About Letterboxd

Letterboxd connects people around the films and shows they love.

We spark discovery, conversation and community through a trusted voice and a product that's deeply loved.

Content has always been at the heart of how Letterboxd shows up in the world. From editorial features and newsletters to social posts, video, interviews, lists and cultural commentary, we've built a content ecosystem that reflects the curiosity, intelligence and passion of our members.

As we continue to grow, we're looking for a Head of Content to bring greater cohesion, ambition and impact to how we create and distribute content across our platforms. This isn't about changing what makes Letterboxd special. It's about building on what already works and helping it reach more people, in more places, through more formats.

The Role

We're hiring a Head of Content to lead Letterboxd's content strategy and content operations across editorial, social, video and audience channels.

You'll be responsible for the planning, creation, production, distribution and performance of content across our newsletters, JOURNAL, social platforms and video channels. You'll help define where we invest, what stories we tell, how we show up across platforms and how content contributes to both audience growth and commercial success.

You'll lead and unite a talented team of creators, editors, producers and audience specialists, ensuring content feels connected, consistent and unmistakably Letterboxd, regardless of format or platform.

Working closely with Brand, Partnerships, Marketing, Advertising, Design and Product teams, you'll balance editorial excellence with audience growth, engagement and business objectives.

This role is about creating a high-performing content operation without compromising the voice, taste and authenticity that our members value most.

What You'll Do

• Develop and lead Letterboxd's long-term content strategy across editorial, social, video and audience channels
• Establish clear priorities and investment decisions based on audience insights, platform trends and performance data
• Lead the Editorial, Social, Production and Studio Relations teams as a single integrated content function
• Ensure content reflects the interests of Letterboxd members while supporting audience growth and commercial objectives
• Oversee content planning, publishing schedules and production workflows across newsletters, JOURNAL, social channels and video platforms
• Create original content formats, franchises and storytelling approaches that deepen engagement and strengthen Letterboxd's position within film and entertainment culture
• Work closely with Design to ensure visual consistency and strong creative execution across content formats, particularly social and video
• Use audience, platform and performance insights to continually improve content effectiveness and reach
• Partner with Advertising, Partnerships and Marketing teams to create authentic opportunities for branded content, sponsorships and commercial collaborations
• Act as the bridge between audience growth, editorial excellence and commercial outcomes
• Mentor, guide and support the Head of Editorial, Head of Social, Head of Production and Head of Studio Relations. Help them grow as leaders, build capability within their teams and ensure their work contributes to a clear and cohesive content strategy
• Maintain strong editorial standards, publishing processes, ethical guidelines and quality control across all content activities
• Manage content budgets, production investment and resource planning to maximise impact and performance

Why Now?

We're growing. Fast.

New members. New regions. New formats. New opportunities.

The way people discover, discuss and share film culture continues to evolve, and so does the role content plays in helping audiences find us and stay engaged.

We've built an audience that trusts our voice and values our perspective. Now we're looking for someone who can help us expand that reach thoughtfully, strengthen what makes Letterboxd unique, and build a content operation that can scale alongside the platform.

If that sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you.
