Job Description
Summary: Lerch Bates Inc. is a global technical consulting firm focused on improving building performance. They are seeking a skilled designer to develop layout solutions and produce drawings for vertical transportation projects, while also serving as a point of contact for clients.
Responsibilities:
- Design layouts for all types of vertical transportation equipment, including passenger and freight hydraulic and traction elevators, escalators, and moving walks
- Be responsible for assigned projects, including meeting deadlines, estimating time for tasks, managing multiple projects, and ensuring project accuracy
- Coordinate project design and drawing delivery with Project Managers and Consultants
- Coordinate layout drawings with Consultants and client Architects. Coordinate project schedule with Consultants and clients
- Interpret specifications when provided and apply them as required by the job task
- Research elevator codes and building codes and apply them as required by the job task
- Download and review Architectural drawings. Update Consultant on design changes/issues from architectural drawings compared to LB Vertical Transportation drawings
- Document Consultant and Architect from phone conversations, emails, drawings/mark-ups, and faxes
- Effectively communicate with BIM/CAD project coordinators
Required Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, or a related field
- At least 1 year of experience using AutoCAD and Revit
- Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite, Excel, Acrobat, PowerPoint, and Bluebeam Revu
- Competency with Revit
- Some education/experience in AutoCAD is helpful
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with architectural drafting and coordination with architects
- Mechanical engineering design experience
- Electrical engineering design experience
