Job Description
Summary: Leidos is an industry and technology leader serving government and commercial customers with smarter, more efficient digital and mission innovations. They are seeking a talented and motivated Software Engineer to join their team dedicated to developing the next generation of Air Traffic Control expansion software, focusing on maintaining legacy systems and integrating solutions into the ERAM system.
Responsibilities:
- Read control floor layouts and develop database entries to reflect operational implementations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate adaptation solutions into the ERAM system, ensuring compatibility and performance
- Analyze and interpret system requirements to develop adaptation strategies that meet operational needs
- Manage system configurations and ensure that adaptation changes are accurately documented and implemented
- Conduct rigorous testing and validation of adaptation solutions to ensure reliability and compliance with industry standards
- Identify and resolve technical issues related to system adaptation, providing timely support to maintain system integrity
- Prepare detailed documentation of adaptation processes, configurations, and changes for future reference and audits
- Proactively seek opportunities to enhance system performance and adaptation processes through innovative solutions
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- Ability to obtain an SF-85P Public Trust clearance from the FAA customer
- Database data manipulation and analysis
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with ERAM or similar air traffic management systems
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to air traffic control systems
- Adaptation specialist with knowledge of Air Space data such as Airspace Restrictions
- Special Activity Airspace definitions (SAA)
- General knowledge of Airspace definitions such as fixes, routes, airways, IFR, NDB, Fix Posting Areas (FPA) etc
- Oracle / SQL skills for data manipulation
- Can write software tools using Python
- Software Engineering Skills
- Familiarization with JIRA
