Your New Role and Responsibilities
Leidos Australia is looking for talented and motivated Software Engineers to join our team based in Melbourne.
As a Software Engineer at Leidos you will be responsible for performing complex software engineering assignments requiring familiarity and expertise with a broad field of engineering and technical knowledge. This is a rare opportunity to work in a truly Agile environment, with customer representatives on site as Product Owner on a day-to-day basis, and cross-functional teams able to take new features through the full software engineering lifecycle for an important Defence mission critical program.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate and innovate with our talented cross-functional and cross-domain teams on compelling software solutions, constantly refining our approach and methods
Contribute to software design, documentation, development, integration, test and release/deployment
Contribute to user interface design and development
Contribute to the management and building of DevOps/Agile process and tools
Perform software prototyping, investigations, research and development
Contribute to software planning and estimating, status monitoring and reporting
Engage with other professionals across the broader team and the business to grow our solutions and your career
About You and What You'll Bring
Extensive experience with Agile and Scrum methodologies, combined with strong problem-solving skills and a proven ability to deliver consistently high-quality results in complex environments
Solid expertise in system integration, including REST APIs, integration protocols, and data formats such as JSON and XML
Hands-on experience integrating and customising open-source technologies, including NiFi, Kafka, Elastic (ELK) Stack, and Solr
Proficiency in CI/CD tools and infrastructure as code practices using Ansible, Jenkins, and Git, alongside strong experience in Java and related open-source frameworks
Broad technical capability across software, systems, and enterprise architecture, including software/hardware engineering and integration, with experience in both Linux and Windows environments
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proactive approach to documenting and continuously improving software development processes
This role does require the successful applicant to be an Australian Citizen and hold a Baseline security clearance but be willing and able to uplift to an NV-2 security clearance.
