Junior Simulation Engineer at Leidos in San Diego, CA

Summary: Leidos is a leading technology company specializing in solutions for complex remote sensing problems for Department of Defense customers. They are seeking a Junior Simulation Engineer to design, develop, and validate simulations while collaborating with engineering teams and communicating with project customers. Responsibilities: - Design, develop, evaluate, validate, verify, analyze multi-domain system of systems simulations - Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable codes and models - Collaborate with teams of engineers and developers, participating in regular code reviews - Perform integration testing as well as collaborating with other internal teams - Communicate with project customers or end users to fully understand, plan, and implement feedback and feature requests Required Qualifications: - US Citizenship is required. Ability to obtain a TS clearance required - Bachelor's Degree and 0-1+ years of prior relevant experience. May possess a Masters or Doctorate in a technical domain - Must have a degree in Physics, Aerospace, or a related field - Experience with system of systems modeling and simulation Preferred Qualifications: - Working knowledge of MATLAB, C/C++, Python - Knowledge of Scrum/Agile development framework - Experience with implementing and maintaining unit testing - Proficiency with Git or comparable version control system - Strong math and numerical analysis background - Knowledgeable/background in astrodynamics - Experience in GNC (Guidance, Navigation, and Control) algorithms and theory - Knowledge of detection, tracking, and discrimination algorithms Required Skills: System of systems modeling, MATLAB, C/C++, Python Important Skills: Scrum/Agile, Unit testing, Git, numerical analysis Nice-to-Have Skills: Astrodynamics, GNC algorithms, Detection algorithms
