Job Description
Summary: Leidos is seeking an External Technology Partnerships Engineering Intern to support the evaluation, prototyping, and integration of emerging technologies. This internship involves hands-on work with commercial software and AI solutions, contributing to technical experiments and prototype development under the guidance of an engineer.
Responsibilities:
- Support hands-on evaluation of external partner technologies, primarily software and AI-based solutions
- Assist in developing prototypes and proof-of-concept integrations
- Contribute code, testing, and documentation under the guidance of the External Technology Partnerships Engineer
- Analyze technical performance, integration considerations, and system behavior
- Participate in technical discussions and design reviews
- Document findings, code changes, and lessons learned to support transition and knowledge sharing
Required Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, AI/ML, or a related technical discipline
- US Citizenship is required
- Coursework or practical experience in programming (Python preferred)
- Familiarity with basic software development practices and version control (e.g., Git)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate technical findings clearly
Preferred Qualifications:
- Exposure to AI/ML frameworks or AI-enabled applications
- Experience working with APIs, cloud environments, or system integration concepts
- Demonstrated initiative in learning new technologies independently
