Summary: Leidos is a defense, intelligence, and technology company seeking a Data Engineering & Analytics Intern for its Summer 2027 Internship Program. The intern will support data visualization, enterprise data pipelines, automation, software development, and infrastructure troubleshooting for DISA at Scott AFB.

Responsibilities:
- Assist in the creation of Kibana visualizations and dashboards to provide critical information to network operators and leadership
- Gain exposure to enterprise data pipelines by assisting with the deployment, configuration, and testing of Kafka and Elastic clusters
- Collaborate with an Agile team, participate in daily scrums, and demonstrate working software
- Develop skills in troubleshooting and resolving infrastructure and system-level issues
- Have the opportunity to design, develop, and test software written in Python, JavaScript, and SQL

Required Qualifications:
- * Citizenship & Clearance: Must be a U.S. citizen and eligible to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance
- * Education: Currently pursuing a degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related engineering discipline
- * Technical Foundation: A foundational understanding of software development with Python, Java, or SQL, and a working knowledge of web technologies like HTML and JavaScript
- * Version Control: Basic familiarity with distributed version control software, such as Git
- * Analytical Mindset: A strong desire to learn, keen attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving
- * **Location: This internship is based on-site at Scott AFB, Illinois. All work must be performed on site – no teleworking opportunities. Candidates must be in the St. Louis Metro area and have their own transportation

Preferred Qualifications:
- * Certifications: Obtaining a CompTIA Security+ certification (or any certification that aligns with DoD 8570 IAT Level II) before the start date is strongly encouraged
- * Hands-On Experience: Experience from home labs, class projects, hackathons, or prior internships is highly desirable
- * Familiarity with:

+ Cloud environments (AWS is a plus).
