Data Engineer Intern at Leidos in Fort Belvoir, VA

Summary: Leidos is a leading technology company, and they are seeking a Data Engineer Intern to support the Defense Threat Reduction Agency's Experimentation Lab operations. The intern will gain hands-on experience in developing automation tools, supporting data lake direction, and improving efficiency within a cleared environment. Responsibilities: - Assist the DEL team with development of automation tools and workflows utilizing AI - Assist team with data lake direction and fine-tuning and customizing LLMs for specific tasks and domains - Support team with automating infrastructure and supporting platform creation through Infrastructure as Code (IaC) - Assist with automating tasks for the DEL environments to improve efficiency - Adhere to all physical security, information security, and property accountability requirements within a cleared environment Required Qualifications: - High school diploma or equivalent and currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program (Junior/Senior level preferred) - Strong organizational skills and attention to detail - Good written and verbal communication skills - US Citizenship required - Interim or active Secret clearance (or ability to obtain and maintain required security clearance) Preferred Qualifications: - Coursework in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Business Administration, or related field - Familiarity with scripting language - Familiarity with LLMs and prompt engineering Required Skills: Scripting language, Large Language Models (LLMs), Prompt engineering, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Security clearance
