Home Automation Engineer at Ledgebit Technologies in Gurugram

Role & responsibilities

• Visit customer sites to understand home automation requirements.
• Study the existing electrical and network setup at the site.
• Recommend suitable home automation products based on customer requirements.
• Prepare the required Bill of Materials (BOM) for projects.
• Configure smart switches, sensors, gateways and other automation devices.
• Configure Wi-Fi/networking and routers required for home automation systems.
• Create and configure scenes, schedules, automations and user access.
• Commission and test complete home automation systems at customer sites.
• Conduct product demonstrations for customers.
• Train customers on the operation and functionality of installed products.
• Troubleshoot connectivity, configuration and device-related issues.
• Test returned/defective products and identify the cause of failure.
• Learn and understand new products and technologies and explain their functionality to customers and the internal team.
• Provide technical support to the sales team during customer discussions and product selection.
• Maintain proper technical documentation, configuration details and troubleshooting records.

Preferred candidate profile

• Practical experience in Home Automation / IoT / Smart Home systems.
• Good understanding of Wi-Fi, LAN, IP addressing, DHCP and routers.
• Knowledge of Zigbee, Wi-Fi and smart-home devices.
• Experience with Tuya, eWeLink or similar smart-home platforms will be an advantage.
• Basic understanding of electrical wiring and electrical loads.
• Ability to troubleshoot hardware, networking and software/configuration issues.
• Good communication and customer-handling skills.
• Ability to explain technical products in simple language.
• Willingness to travel for customer site visits.
• Ability to work independently at customer locations.
• A valid driving licence and own two-wheeler would be an advantage.
