HR Generalist at LeadDesk in Helsinki, Uusimaa, Finland

Would you like to help make everyday working life run smoothly for our employees and managers across Europe?

Nice to meet you! I’m Milja Valentine, a Senior Talent Partner at LeadDesk. Together with Jori Hurula, our Head of People, we’re now looking for an HR Generalist to join our People team in Helsinki.

In this role, you’ll make sure our employees and managers get reliable support throughout the employee journey. You’ll keep our daily HR operations running: answering everyday questions, maintaining employment documents and data, coordinating work ability processes, and preparing HR reports. This is a hands-on role with real ownership: you’ll run things day to day, take responsibility for how they work, and get involved in a wide range of People topics across the Group.

What’s in it for you

• Ownership that matters. Take responsibility for HR processes that directly affect our employees’ everyday experience, with room to shape how they work.
• A varied role. Combine HR administration, manager support, and work ability management, and get involved in many areas of our People work.
• Learn and grow. Work side by side with our Head of People and build broad HR experience.
• International playground. Work with HR practices and colleagues across 7 countries and 27 nationalities.
• AI as a daily habit. Tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, and Copilot are part of our everyday routines.
• Our own technology. Join a publicly listed SaaS company that builds its own technology and keeps investing in product and innovation.
• Flexible and hybrid. Enjoy flexible hours, with 3 days a week at our welcoming HQ office in Kallio.
• Time together. We enjoy company events and team activities. Our office is stocked with snacks, and benefits include lunch, culture/sports benefits, and occupational healthcare.

• Be the first point of contact for employee and manager questions through our shared People email inbox.
• Prepare employment agreements and other lifecycle documents, and keep employee data accurate in our HR system Sympa, where you’ll act as second administrator.
• Prepare HR reports for leadership and support recurring processes such as HR audits and Nordic payroll checks as backup 4-eye review.
• Manage our quarterly HR newsletter, communication on generic HR topics and keep our intranet content up to date.

Managers and employee experience

• Support manager development together with Head of People, run monthly new manager onboarding and Manager Meetup events.
• Own our employee survey platform Teamspective and processes around it.

Work ability and occupational health

• Coordinate work ability and occupational healthcare matters across the Group with our Head of People, including early support for managers and employees.
• Work with our pension and occupational healthcare partners.
• Represent HR in occupational health and safety committees in Finland, Norway, and Sweden.

What success looks like in this role in the first 6 months and beyond

• Employees and managers know where to turn and get clear, timely answers to everyday HR questions.
• Employee data and documents are accurate and handled confidentially.
• You run routine HR operations independently, know when to ask for support, and have spotted practical ways to improve how we work.
• Managers feel supported in work ability cases, and every case gets consistent follow-up.
• You’ve found your place in our People team, where ambition, humor, and supporting each other go a long way, and built strong relationships across the business.

This is where the match happens

Must-haves

• A couple of years of experience in HR operations or a broad HR specialist role, including employee administration and employment documents.
• Practical knowledge of Finnish employment practices and some experience with occupational healthcare and work ability processes.
• A structured, precise way of working, with the initiative to keep several processes and deadlines on track.
• Drive to grow you look at things with fresh eyes, raise the bar for how we work, and actively look for ways to develop yourself.
• A helpful service mindset and sound judgement when handling sensitive employee information.
• Confidence using HR systems, Microsoft 365, and employee data for reporting.
• Fluent Finnish and English, spoken and written.

We warmly encourage you to apply even if you don’t tick every box.

• Experience of HR work in an international environment.
• Familiarity with payroll checks or HR audits.
