Job Description
Summary: Westinghouse Electric Co is a leader in the nuclear energy industry, committed to providing clean energy solutions. As a Transient Analysis Engineer I, you will perform design basis safety analysis for nuclear reactors, focusing on non-Loss of Coolant Accidents (non-LOCA) transients, while collaborating with project teams and serving as a point of contact for specific inquiries.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and assessment of models and correlations for prediction two-phase flow and heat transfer phenomena
- Perform nuclear reactor safety analysis and development of analysis methodologies for design basis accidents
- Perform reload safety evaluations for each plant cycle
- Be cognizant of plant specific licensing basis, analyses of record
- Be point of contact for plant-specific non-LOCA or containment analysis specific inquiries from both internal and external customers
- Evaluate impacts of plant modifications and operating changes on design analysis
- Participate on project teams
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical or Nuclear)
- Desire to earn Professional Engineer in Training (EIT) license
- Perform up to 10% travel to domestic or international customer sites
