Job Description
Summary: LaunchDarkly is at the forefront of driving the software development lifecycle for AI-assisted teams, making it possible for our customers to ship both AI and traditional software efficiently and safely. As a Full Stack Engineering Intern, you will contribute to software engineering projects and product development, working closely with experienced engineers to build applications used throughout the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Work in a production environment under the guidance of senior Software Engineers, contributing code to features and fixes that will be deployed within LaunchDarkly
- Apply foundational software engineering principles to support the development of scalable and reliable systems, following established design patterns and best practices
- Write clear, well-structured, and testable code in accordance with team standards and documented procedures
- Troubleshoot and resolve routine issues with support from more experienced engineers
- Participate in code reviews to receive feedback and improve technical skills
- Collaborate with team members to complete assigned tasks and deliverables within defined timelines
Required Qualifications:
- Rising junior or senior pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field
- Demonstrated academic or project-based experience with at least one server-side programming language (e.g., Go, Node.js, Python, Java, C++)
- Exposure to at least one front-end technology (e.g., TypeScript, JavaScript, React, Vue, Angular) through coursework, internships, or personal projects
- Foundational understanding of computer science principles, including data structures, basic concepts in distributed systems, concurrency, and threading
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment
- Demonstrates initiative and willingness to learn, seek guidance when needed, and apply feedback to improve performance
- Understanding of the importance of code quality, testing, and established engineering best practices
