Job Description
Summary: Kroll is a global leader in Risk and Financial Advisory services, operating at the intersection of data, technology, and complex decision-making. They are seeking a high-performing Data Engineering Intern to help build and scale the data infrastructure that powers analytics, automation, and AI across the firm. This role involves designing and implementing production-grade data pipelines and collaborating with senior engineers and data scientists.
Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain scalable, reliable data pipelines supporting analytics, reporting, and AI workloads
- Engineer data ingestion and transformation workflows across structured and semi-structured sources
- Implement data models and quality controls to ensure accuracy, consistency, and performance
- Deploy and monitor data workflows in cloud environments, with an emphasis on reliability and observability
- Optimize existing pipelines for performance, cost, and maintainability
- Contribute to technical documentation and design discussions with senior engineers
Required Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a closely related technical field
- Graduation date between December 2026 and September 2027
- Strong command of SQL and at least one programming language (Python preferred)
- Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and systems fundamentals
- Experience building data pipelines or backend systems through coursework, research, or personal projects
- Comfort working in cloud environments
- Clear technical communication and the ability to reason about trade-offs
Preferred Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
- Familiarity with modern data stacks (ETL/ELT pipelines, orchestration, data warehouses/lakes)
- Experience with version control, CI/CD, or infrastructure-as-code concepts
- Exposure to BI or analytics tooling (e.g., Power BI)
- Prior internship or demonstrable project work showing ownership of production-quality systems
