Job Description
Summary: Kroger is a leading grocery retailer seeking current college students for their Summer 2026 Merchandising Internship. This 12-week program offers hands-on learning experiences and mentorship in the corporate merchandising function, allowing interns to contribute to meaningful projects and develop professional skills.
Responsibilities:
- Complete a 15 week program in a merchandising department working with a team to gain an understanding of the corporate merchandising function
- Responsible for positively impacting Kroger's business and consumers by completing challenging and meaningful projects
- Assist Merchandising group to achieve department goals and objectives
- Complete specific internship assignments in a timely manner with the assistance of department managers
- Communicate status updates and any potential issues to appropriate team members
- Support Merchandising department and assist with activities of assigned department(s) including, but not limited to, end-to-end assortment, financials, analysis, and overall category strategy
- Interpret data trends and apply own knowledge to inform business decisions
- Participate and provide feedback at team meetings
- Complete cumulative internship project (summary of accomplishments) and present to Merchandising leadership team
- Must be able to perform the essential job functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation
Required Qualifications:
- Open to all majors, must be actively pursuing a degree at an accredited college or university with a preferred GPA of 3.0
- Applicants must have work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States and with Kroger Co (i.e., H1-B visa, F-1 visa (OPT), TN visa or any other non-immigrant status)
- Highly motivated student with the desire to take initiative on their own work
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to work in groups or independently
- Accuracy and attention to detail with the ability to preserve confidentiality of information
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and ability to present information to various levels of the organization
- Managing multiple priorities between school, work or extra-curricular activities
- Responds to change as a positive challenge
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
- Significant level of multi-tasking
- Any professional/internship experience in a business-related field
- Any specialized skillsets in any of the following areas: Contract Management, Logistics, Supply Chain, Merchandising or CPG experience
