Job Description
Summary: Kleinfelder is a company that provides engineering, scientific, and construction solutions for various infrastructure needs. They are seeking an engineering co-op or intern to join their team, where the candidate will have the opportunity to learn and contribute to projects in a team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities:
- Desire to learn, or experience in, electrical engineering associated with industrial facilities and commercial buildings
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- The ability to organize priorities and multi-task effectively
- A thirst to learn and achieve continuous improvement in a team environment
- A can-do attitude and problem-solving mindset are essential
- A strong commitment for accountability to project quality and schedule
- Assist in reviewing/checking calculations prepared by others, drafting of plans and details, and preparing meeting minutes
- Assist in reviewing and processing submittals and shop drawings, performing field observations and field measurements to record existing conditions
- Ability to assist in performing field observation and field measurements to record existing conditions
- Must be able to work collaboratively with other design disciplines to coordinate with the overall design
- Willing to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, willingness to climb, work at heights, over water, and other austere conditions for inspections and/or observations
Required Qualifications:

- Students are pursuing a degree in engineering or engineering technology
- Have at least one prior co-op experience with an engineering firm, general contractor, or other company
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience using Word, Excel, Bluebeam, Outlook, and Teams to effectively communicate with internal and external clients
- Experience in AutoCAD and Revit preferred
- Adhere to organizational standards for quality and performance
- Read and interpret construction plans and specifications, applicable building codes, and design codes
- Assist in reviewing/checking calculations prepared by others, drafting of plans and details, and preparing meeting minutes
- Assist in reviewing and processing submittals and shop drawings, performing field observations and field measurements to record existing conditions
