Electrical Tester – Major Construction Projects
Ready to work on large-scale, high-profile projects across the UK & Europe?
We’re looking for an experienced Electrical Tester to join King & Moffatt Building Services and support the testing, inspection, commissioning, and handover of electrical installations across major M&E projects.
This role can be considered in various areas of Ireland, including Dublin, Leitrim, Galway or any of the Midland Counties.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled Electrical Tester who enjoys fault finding, commissioning, and ensuring projects are delivered safely and compliantly.

What you’ll be doing
Carrying out inspection and testing of electrical installations in line with BS7671 and Guidance Note 3
Completing Initial Verification and Periodic Inspection & Testing activities
Performing continuity, insulation resistance, polarity, loop impedance, RCD, and functional testing
Identifying faults, defects, and non-compliant installations during testing phases
Supporting site teams with fault finding and remedial works
Completing Electrical Installation Certificates (EICs) and associated testing documentation
Using digital certification software and QA platforms to record results and documentation
Supporting commissioning and energisation activities across projects
Coordinating witness testing with clients, consultants, and commissioning teams
Ensuring all testing equipment is calibrated and maintained correctly
Following safe isolation and Lock-Out Tag-Out (LOTO) procedures at all times
Working closely with Site Managers, Engineers, and Project Teams to support successful handover
qualifications
What we’re looking for
NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation or equivalent recognised qualification
City & Guilds 2391 / 2394 & 2395 Inspection & Testing qualification essential
18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification
Previous experience in electrical testing within commercial, industrial, or M&E environments
Strong understanding of BS7671 and electrical testing procedures
Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving abilities
ECS / CSCS Gold Card
Strong communication and organisational skills
Ability to work independently and across multiple project sites
Full UK / Irish Driving Licence desirable
