Summary: KeyBank is a national association that is seeking an Associate Software Engineer to assist in the development, implementation, assessment, and support of various environments, applications, or platforms. The role involves developing maintainable code, resolving system impacts, and learning from senior engineers while adhering to security standards and best practices. Responsibilities: - Develops clean, maintainable, testable code for work assigned - Actively works resolution of system and client experience impacts for one or more environments, applications, or platforms - Takes direction and embraces mentorship and training from senior engineers - Demonstrates active learning regarding industry trends regarding banking and technology - Learns and follows recommended information security standards when developing code - Assists in testing and evaluating new and emerging technologies during the selection process - Utilizes technical documentation, specifications, and project artifacts when developing code - Embraces and follows established standards and best practices - Performs other duties as assigned; duties, responsibilities and/or activities may change or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice - Complies with all KeyBank policies and procedures, including without limitation, acting professionally at all times, conducting business ethically, avoiding conflicts of interest, and acting in the best interests of Key’s clients and Key Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience (preferred) - OR equivalent experience (required) - 1+ years of relevant experience (required) - Basic Understanding of the values and practices that align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions and ability to leverage that information in creating customized customer solutions - Basic Understanding of quality management methods, tools, and techniques and ability to create and support an environment that meets the quality goals of the organization - Working Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations - Basic Understanding and insight into evaluating current product quality and production methods and ability to maintain focus on the continuous improvement of processes, products and services - Working Knowledge of collaborative techniques; ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner - Basic Understanding of emerging technologies; ability to design, apply and evaluate new information technologies for business environments - Basic Understanding of software development life cycle; ability to use a structured methodology for delivering and managing new or enhanced software products to the marketplace - Basic Understanding of software development tools and activities; ability to produce software products or systems in line with product requirements - Basic Understanding of the features and facilities of systems; ability to integrate and communicate among applications, databases and technology platforms - Basic Understanding of software reliability management; ability to develop and use principles, methodologies and metrics that increase software product performance and reliability - Basic Understanding of production applications; ability to monitor application functions and resolve issues to maintain optimal conditions for system applications Required Skills: Software development life cycle, Software development tools Important Skills: Emerging technologies, Quality management methods Nice-to-Have Skills: Software reliability management, Production applications, Collaborative techniques Benefits: Eligibility for incentive compensation which may include production, commission, and/or discretionary incentives.
