HSE Intern at Key Capture Energy in Houston, TX

Summary: Key Capture Energy is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented HSE Intern to support their Health, Safety, and Environmental initiatives within the Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) industry. This role offers hands-on experience in developing and implementing safety programs, environmental compliance, and risk management practices in a rapidly growing renewable energy sector. Responsibilities: - Assist in developing and maintaining HSE documentation, including emergency planning and environmental compliance - Provide support and expertise in developing HSE Dashboarding for active BESS facilities. Initial focus will be in Hazardous Energy Control, Fire Suppression Systems and Spill Prevention - Support incident reporting and investigation processes, ensuring timely documentation and follow-up - Participate in site safety audits and inspections identifying hazards and recommending corrective actions - Develop training materials and safety awareness campaigns for employees and contractors - Assist in data collection and analysis for environmental performance metrics - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote a culture of safety and sustainability - All other duties as required Required Qualifications: - Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with data analysis tools is a plus - Strong interest in renewable energy and battery storage technologies - Proficient in Adobe Acrobat based document editing - Basic understanding of HSE principles, regulations, and best practices - Excellent communication and organizational skills - Ability to work independently and as part of a team - Strong organizational and time-management skills Preferred Qualifications: - Knowledge of OSHA standards, environmental regulations, and risk assessment methodologies - Familiarity with energy storage systems or renewable energy projects - Experience with safety management systems or auditing processes - Pursuing a degree in Renewable Energy, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering or related field Required Skills: HSE principles, data analysis tools, renewable energy Important Skills: Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, OSHA standards Nice-to-Have Skills: time-management
