Summary: Kestra Medical Technologies, Inc. is a company focused on innovating wearable technologies for cardiac medical devices. They are seeking an Algorithm R&D Intern to assist with a defined project involving technology research and the application of machine learning to data sets, culminating in a report and presentation of findings. Responsibilities: - Project: A defined project will be assigned for completion over the internship term. Responsibilities will include creating a plan/schedule, completing basic technology research, and applying machine learning to existing data sets to improve predictive performance. The outputs will include a detailed report and presentation. A project mentor will be assigned to help provide guidance and conduct regular check-in meetings (1:1’s) - Project Report: A report will be generated documenting results - Project Presentation: At internship end, the internship project results and findings will be presented to the engineering team and executives Required Qualifications: - 3rd year or higher undergraduate in Engineering or Data Science discipline - Working knowledge of MATLAB and/or Python - Strong written and oral communication skills - Knowledgeable in Machine Learning - Large data management experience - Knowledge of navigating academic journal papers and translating findings - Must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within the past 6 months - Must not have completed one year of continual employment with Kestra Medical Technologies - Must be at least 18 years of age - Must possess unrestricted work authorization - Must complete a criminal and employment background screening that meets the allowable FDA requirements and is in accordance with EEOC rules and regulations - Must complete a pre-internship drug screen Preferred Qualifications: - Understanding of basic electrophysiology - Knowledgeable in explainable Machine Learning Required Skills: MATLAB, Python, Machine Learning, Large Data Management, Academic Research
