Job Description
Summary: Kent is looking for an Electrical Engineering Summer Intern to be based in Deer Park, TX. The intern will support department leaders, develop discipline deliverables, and learn about Kent's procedures and project execution methodologies.
Responsibilities:
- Supports Department Leaders in the compilation of data and preparation of reports for various activities
- Supports the development of discipline deliverables on assigned project(s)
- Learns about Kent procedures and project execution methodologies through mentoring of Department Leaders and self-study as assigned
- Participates in in-house and learning activities as directed by Mentor
- Learns to work cooperatively and efficiently as a member of the assigned discipline team
- Understands and follows safe work practices
- Performs other tasks as assigned
- In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development
Required Qualifications:
- Pursuing a Bachelor's level degree in Electrical Engineering
- Overall GPA 3.0 or above
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring employment visa sponsorship
- Oral and written communication skills (includes technical writing)
- Basic knowledge of engineering concepts and ability to apply knowledge to complex problems
- Computer skills and application of software programs
- Ability to interpret codes, regulations, and practices
- Ability to develop effective planning, project, and organizational skills
