Job Description
Summary: KBR is a trusted partner delivering complex technical solutions to the U.S. Department of Defense. The Engineering Intern will assist experienced professionals in various stages of engineering research and development while maintaining productive relationships with technical staff and customers.
Responsibilities:
- Assist experienced technical professionals in various stages of engineering research, development, integration, test, and evaluation - from design, simulation, fabrication, prototyping, testing, automating, and more
- Support KBR’s Mission Engineering Division in a full-time capacity at 40 hours/week during the standard college breaks
- Develop and deliver a final presentation of work completed as a capstone of the internship
- Additional tasks as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Must be a US Citizen
- Must be a High School graduate with intentions of pursuing a BS degree in an Engineering discipline
- Technical skills with Object Oriented Programming
- Eligible to Obtain a DOD Clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience through prior summer internships, particularly the Navy's Next Generation Workforce (N2W) Summer Internship are strongly desired
- Highly preferred experience studying engineering design principles using 3D computer modeling and cutting edge tools in high school
- Demonstrated academic expertise and analytic skills coupled with collaborative team building skills to solve real-world problems
- Broad experience working with student teams and involvement in school programs and community activities are strongly desired
- Familiar with reading drawings and charts, designing discrete parts and assemblies, 3D printing prototypes, and building and testing end-items are needed
- Experience with engineering design software tools, i.e. SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Matlab, C++, Java, Arduino, etc
- Experience building and testing Unmanned Systems (UxS), or Drones
- Experience with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
