The Department of Philosophy in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Miami invites applications for a full-time tenure-eligible faculty position at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor, to begin August 2027. Area of Specialization (AOS): Philosophy and Artificial Intelligence. Area of Competence (AOC): Open. The department seeks an established scholar who will pursue a vigorous research program of a level commensurate with an AAU institution, teach at the graduate and undergraduate levels, and take a full part in the normal activities of the department. We welcome applications from candidates approaching artificial intelligence from a variety of subfields in philosophy. A Ph.D. (or an equivalent terminal degree) in philosophy or a closely related field is required by the time of the appointment start date. Priority will be given to applications received by December 15. For information concerning the department, see our web site: www.miami.edu/phi. Inquiries may be sent to: philosophy@miami.edu.
