Job Description
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Executive to join our growing manufacturing and export business. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining day-to-day accounting records, supporting statutory compliance, handling vendor/customer transactions, bank reconciliations and assisting the Finance Head with MIS and financial reporting.
The role is suitable for a B.Com graduate with approximately 1 year of hands-on accounting experience who is looking to develop a broader understanding of finance operations in a start-up environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Day-to-Day Accounting
- Record purchase, sales, receipts, payments and journal entries.
- Maintain proper accounting records and supporting documents.
- Process vendor invoices and verify invoices against purchase orders/GRNs.
- Maintain customer and vendor ledgers.
- Assist in accounts payable and accounts receivable management.
- Follow up on outstanding receivables and vendor payments.
2. Bank & Cash Management
- Perform regular bank reconciliation.
- Maintain petty cash records and supporting vouchers.
- Assist in monitoring daily bank balances and payment requirements.
- Prepare payment requests and supporting documentation.
3. GST & Statutory Compliance
- Assist in preparation and filing of GST returns.
- Verify purchase invoices and input tax credit.
- Assist with TDS calculations, deductions and return-related activities.
- Maintain statutory compliance records and documentation.
- Coordinate with external Chartered Accountant / tax consultants as required.
4. Manufacturing Accounting
- Assist in accounting for raw material purchases, inventory and production-related expenses.
- Coordinate with stores and production teams for inventory-related records.
- Assist in monitoring material consumption and stock reconciliation.
- Support costing and production-related financial information.
- Maintain proper documentation for purchase and inventory transactions.
5. Export Accounting & Documentation
- Assist in accounting for export sales and export-related expenses.
- Maintain export invoices and supporting documentation.
- Assist in tracking export receivables and foreign currency transactions.
- Coordinate with logistics, banks and internal teams for export documentation.
- Assist in reconciliation of export proceeds and bank realization records.
6. MIS & Reporting
- Prepare basic weekly/monthly finance reports.
- Assist in preparation of receivables, payables and cash-flow statements.
- Prepare ageing reports for customers and vendors.
- Assist in expense analysis and management reporting.
- Provide financial information to management as required.
7. Audit & Compliance Support
- Maintain proper documentation for internal and statutory audits.
- Provide schedules, invoices and supporting documents to auditors/consultants.
- Ensure accounting records are complete and properly filed.
- Assist in implementing internal financial controls.
Requirements
- B.Com graduate with 1–2 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Good understanding of basic accounting principles.
- Working knowledge of GST and TDS.
- Experience with Tally / Tally Prime, Zoho Books or similar accounting software preferred.
- Good working knowledge of MS Excel.
- Exposure to manufacturing or export accounting will be an advantage.
- Good numerical and analytical skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Willingness to take ownership and work in a start-up environment.
- Should be comfortable handling multiple responsibilities and learning new processes.

What the Candidate Can Expect
As this is a growing start-up, the candidate will get broad exposure to Finance & Accounts, rather than being restricted to one accounting activity. The role will provide an opportunity to learn manufacturing accounting, exports, taxation, working capital, MIS and financial controls and progressively take on higher responsibilities.
Benefits
Salary range about INR 20,000 per month and negotiable for the right candidate
Candidates in and around Ulundurpet / Villupuram preferred
