Job Description
Summary: JRM Construction Management is a leading General Contracting and Construction Management Firm with extensive experience in the industry. They are offering an internship opportunity exclusive to U.S. military members participating in the DoD SkillBridge Program, focusing on roles such as Assistant Superintendent, Junior Estimator, and Project Engineer.
Responsibilities:
- Supporting daily field operations and working alongside the Superintendent to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project schedules on complex construction projects
- Assisting with trade coordination, material tracking, site logistics, and safety compliance
- Supporting the estimating team in preparing accurate and competitive estimates for construction projects
- Reviewing drawings and specifications, analyzing subcontractor bids, assisting with scope comparisons, and supporting bid submissions
- Supporting the Project Manager with the administration of project cost and scheduling systems and supporting estimating functions for changes and addenda
- Managing document control and shop drawing systems and helping ensure the smooth flow of information between the design team, consultants, and subcontractors
Required Qualifications:
- Demonstrate interest in construction management or the construction industry
- Have served at least 180 days on active duty
- Be eligible to participate during the final six months of military service prior to separation or retirement
- Be expected to receive an honorable discharge
- Have completed the Transition Assistance Program (TAP/TGPS)
- Have attended or participated in an ethics brief within the last 12 months
- Received Unit Commander (first O-4/Field Grade commander in chain of command) written authorization and approval to participate in DoD SkillBridge Program prior to start of the internship
