Job Description
Summary: Johnson & Johnson is a leader in healthcare innovation, dedicated to improving health outcomes for patients and doctors. The Full Stack Software Engineer will work on impactful projects, developing and maintaining applications that enhance healthcare technology while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain full-stack applications using JavaScript/Node.js and React, contributing to both frontend and backend components
- Collaborate across teams of different sizes to understand requirements, design solutions, and deliver high-quality software that meets user needs
- Write clean, maintainable code and participate in code reviews to continuously improve code quality and team standards
- Debug and solve issues across the stack, resolving bugs and improving system reliability
- Build and optimize scalable web services, APIs, and applications that serve healthcare professionals and patients
- Learn and adapt to new technologies, frameworks, and tools—including AI/ML technologies and prompt engineering techniques
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, standups, and retrospectives
- Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing within the team
- Apply Johnson & Johnson's Credo and Leadership Imperatives in daily work and team interactions
Required Qualifications:
- Strong computer science fundamentals including data structures, algorithms, and software design principles
- Highly motivated self-learner with demonstrated ability to quickly pick up new programming languages, frameworks, and technologies including AI
- Problem-solving mentality with strong analytical and debugging skills
- Collaboration skills and ability to work effectively in cross-functional team environments
- Communication skills to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and Node.js (Express.js or similar frameworks)
- Experience with React or other modern frontend frameworks
- Experience with Python for scripting, data processing, backend development, or AI
- Familiarity with Git and version control workflows
- Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Interest or experience in AI technologies, including prompt engineering and working with AI agents/APIs
- Understanding of RESTful API design
- Experience with databases (SQL and/or NoSQL)
