Summary: Johnson & Johnson is a leading healthcare company dedicated to health innovation. They are seeking an AI Research Summer Intern to join their Data Science R&D team, focusing on developing next-generation AI/ML models for virtual cell modeling. Responsibilities: - Join our Data Science R&D team and work closely with senior AI scientists to develop next generation AI/ML models for building virtual cells - Design and implement innovative multimodal foundation model architectures for omics and imaging, etc. to enable advanced biological representation learning and 'virtual cell' modeling for Insilco biological simulation - Contribute to novel methods and publications Required Qualifications: - PhD student in AI/ML, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computational Biology, or a related field - Strong research background in deep learning, demonstrated by publications in top-tier AI venues (e.g., ICML, ICLR, CVPR, NeurIPS) - Expertise in deep learning, particularly multimodal models, foundation models, LLMs, and geometric deep learning - Strong analytical thinking and research execution skills - Excellent communication and collaboration abilities - Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, research intensive environment - Permanently authorized to work in the U.S., must not require sponsorship of an employment visa (e.g., H-1B or green card) at the time of application or in the future Preferred Qualifications: - Experience or strong interest in multimodal learning, and multi omics data analysis is preferred - Familiarity with single cell, pertubation and omics is a strong plus Required Skills: AI/ML, Deep Learning, Multimodal Learning Important Skills: Computational Biology, Research Publication Nice-to-Have Skills: Analytical Thinking, Collaboration Skills Benefits: Co-Ops/Interns are eligible to participate in Company sponsored employee medical benefits in accordance with the terms of the plan., Co-Ops and Interns are eligible for the following sick time benefits: up to 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington, up to 56 hours per calendar year., Co-Ops and Interns are eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension).
