Job Description
Summary: Johnson Health Tech North America is seeking a Biomechanics Lab Intern to assist in researching and validating product designs. The intern will be responsible for conducting biomechanics testing and enhancing the visibility of the company through collaboration with academic institutions.
Responsibilities:
- Collect and process data using kinematic, EMG and VO2 measurement systems
- Use laboratory systems such as Cortex or MATLAB to provide data analysis, interpretation, and presentation of findings
- Operate and maintain biomechanical laboratory equipment such as the EMG, VO2 and motion capture systems
- Operate as a Johnson Health Tech liaison to Universities and labs
Required Qualifications:
- Actively pursuing a degree in a related field such as Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Kinesiology, etc
- Experience in laboratory procedures, testing and research activities
- Experience with MATLAB
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must be able to write, read, understand and execute techniques and protocols
- Ability to work well with numerous diverse groups and individuals
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point
- Should be results oriented, possess a high degree of motivation and the ability to work with minimal supervision
- Creative thinker and strong problem solver
- Ability to multi-task well and change focus quickly
- Ability to analyze and critique published literature
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Cortex 3D Motion Analysis Software and Delsys EMGworks is a plus
