Summary: Johnson Controls is a global leader in smart, healthy, and sustainable buildings, seeking interns for their Future Leaders Internship Program. Interns will engage in hands-on engineering activities, participate in training, and complete a capstone project over a 13-week period. Responsibilities: - Participate in our 13-week customized Internship Program that consists of a combination of continued Training (Self-paced and in-person), hands-on real world field work, entry level engineering activities and a final presentation of a capstone project - Perform assigned system commissioning using Johnson Controls configuration and commissioning tools. Troubleshoots and resolves basic HVAC mechanical, electrical, and controls problems - Perform assigned basic / entry level engineering activities to support field team such as standard software generation and as-built documentation - Generate and present a capstone project that reflects on your 12-week intern experience - Develop and load system level controller software - Develop and load supervisory level controller software - Performs basic commissioning and system diagnostics from system-level controllers to end devices (i.e., sensors, actuators, etc.) and completes all required commissioning documentation - Keeps management and JCI contractor or customer informed of job progress and issues - Calibrates systems requiring basic electronic test equipment - Completes administrative tasks including but not limited to time sheets, expense reports, and on-site documentation - Documents changes from the field and develop as-built documentation - Communicates with the JCI contractor or customer upon arrival and before leaving the work site - Follows all safety standards and attends required safety training. High degree of regard to employee and subcontractor safety Required Qualifications: - Currently enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited U.S. college or university - Pursuing a degree in engineering relevant to mechanical and electrical systems - Extremely organized, detail oriented and able to effectively multi-task - U.S. citizen or legal right to work in the U.S - Proactive and positive attitude, ready to learn and contribute to real world projects - Demonstrates an ability to learn quickly and independently - Strong communication skills (verbal and written) - Strong problem-solving skills - Able to use hand and power tools (i.e., drills, saws, etc.) - Strong computer skills required. (All Microsoft and Office Suite products) - Personal Vehicle and valid driver's license required.
