Job Description
Summary: John Deere is a company dedicated to addressing the challenges of a growing global population. They are seeking a Quality Engineer in Waterloo, IA, responsible for providing production support, quality planning, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure product quality meets customer expectations.
Responsibilities:
- Provide production support for containment, inspections, quality procedures, and tools to monitor critical processes
- Support operations teams with quality planning, control, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure products meet customer expectations
- Report defined quality metrics to operations teams and Leadership
Required Qualifications:
- 1 or more years of related experience in quality or manufacturing engineering in a manufacturing environment
- Experience using standard quality management principles and tools (such as FMEA, SPC, Root Cause, Control Plans, Gauge RR, MSA and Capability Studies)
- Experience with gear or shaft manufacturing standards, processes, and controls
- Experience reading and interpreting complex part drawings, including functional knowledge of GD&T principles and terminology
- Experience using advanced data gathering and analysis techniques, including statistical analysis
- Experience in driving a closed loop corrective action process, including rigorous root cause analysis
- 4 year degree in Manufacturing Technology or Engineering or equivalent work experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in project management; including effectively facilitating, leading, and managing cross functional teams
- Experience with Power BI, Alteryx, Tableau, or Minitab software
- ASQ certifications such as CQE, CSSGB, and/or CSSBB
