Summary: Joby Aviation is working towards making piloted air taxis a reality, and they are seeking a Summer intern for their Testing Team. The intern will contribute to the execution of structural, environmental, and functional tests on flight-critical components of eVTOL aircraft while collaborating closely with engineers to support various testing projects. Responsibilities: - Collaborate with test engineers in the preparation and execution of tests on aircraft structures such as fuselage, tail, and wing - Define test equipment and specify hardware for testing purposes - Install and integrate test instrumentation, encompassing hardware, data acquisition, and data analysis - Dive into digital data acquisition software, including hands-on programming with NI LabView Required Qualifications: - Currently pursuing a B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related discipline at the currently sophomore level or higher - Solid foundation in fundamental engineering principles, supported by relevant coursework Preferred Qualifications: - Educational focus in structures/composites, electromechanical/robotics, and/or controls engineering - Previous experience or demonstrated interest through internships, club involvement, etc - A positive, can-do attitude with effective listening and learning skills - Enthusiasm and passion for your work and projects Required Skills: Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Data Acquisition Important Skills: LabView Programming Nice-to-Have Skills: Enthusiasm, Effective Listening Internship Start Date: Start in 2026 Summer
