Job Description
Accountabilities:
- Design, develop, and optimize SAP HANA-native models including calculation views, CDS views, AMDPs, and SQLScript procedures for analytical and transactional use cases.
- Translate complex business and reporting requirements into scalable, maintainable, and high-performing data models.
- Lead HANA performance tuning initiatives using tools such as HANA Studio Plan Visualizer, ST04, ST05, and DBACOCKPIT to identify and resolve bottlenecks.
- Implement secure and compliant HANA architectures, including analytic privileges, row-level security, and role management.
- Support data replication, integration, and tiering strategies using SLT, Smart Data Integration, Smart Data Access, and Native Storage Extension technologies.
- Collaborate closely with Basis, ABAP, analytics, and platform teams to ensure seamless integration across the SAP ecosystem.
- Lead capacity planning, system optimization, and operational readiness efforts for enterprise-scale workloads.
- Maintain detailed technical documentation, architecture references, and operational runbooks while mentoring junior engineers on HANA best practices.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of hands-on SAP HANA development and performance engineering experience.
- Strong expertise with SAP HANA modeling technologies including calculation views, CDS views, AMDPs, and SQLScript.
- Solid understanding of HANA architecture concepts such as in-memory computing, columnar storage, partitioning, and parallel processing.
- Proven experience troubleshooting and optimizing SAP HANA performance across enterprise environments.
- Experience with HANA replication and integration tools including SLT, SDI, and SDA.
- Familiarity with S/4HANA embedded analytics, BW/4HANA, HANA Cloud, SAP Datasphere, or SAP Analytics Cloud is highly valued.
- Strong SQL, analytical thinking, troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
- SAP HANA certifications and experience supporting large-scale migrations or upgrades are considered a plus.
- Candidates must be eligible to work full-time in the United States. H1B transfers may be supported for qualified applicants.
