Job Title: Maintenance Technician (PDA & Printer)
Location: Chino, CA
Hourly Pay Range: $23.00 - $30.00/hour + Annual Bonus
Job Type: Full-Time
Job Summary
We are looking for a hands-on Printer & PDA Repair Technician responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing printers, PDAs, and other handheld devices used in logistics and warehouse operations. The ideal candidate has strong technical troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to diagnose and resolve hardware issues efficiently to minimize equipment downtime.
What You'll Do:
Printer & PDA Repair
Diagnose, troubleshoot, disassemble, repair, and reassemble printers, PDAs, and related handheld devices.
Replace common components such as batteries, screens, charging ports, buttons, power modules, print heads, rollers, cables, and other hardware parts.
Troubleshoot hardware, power, charging, connectivity, printing, scanning, display, and button-related issues.
Technical Troubleshooting
Use multimeters, soldering tools, and standard repair equipment to diagnose basic electrical, wiring, and connector issues.
Read and understand basic electrical diagrams, technical manuals, and equipment specifications.
Identify root causes of equipment failures and determine whether equipment should be repaired, replaced, or scrapped.
Testing & Quality Control
Perform comprehensive functional testing after each repair.
Verify printer functions such as power, printing, paper feeding, connectivity, and print quality.
Verify PDA functions including power, charging, screen, buttons, scanning, connectivity, and interfaces.
Repair Documentation & Inventory
Accurately record repair details, failure reasons, replaced parts, labor hours, and equipment status.
Track commonly used spare parts and communicate parts replenishment needs.
Maintain organized tools, spare parts, and the repair work area.
Process Improvement
Support the development and maintenance of repair SOPs, troubleshooting guides, and common failure databases.
Identify recurring equipment issues and recommend improvements to reduce equipment downtime and repair costs.
About You
High school diploma or equivalent; technical/vocational training in electronics, electrical engineering, mechanics, or a related field preferred.
2+ years of hands-on experience repairing printers, PDAs, handheld scanners, mobile devices, or similar electronic equipment.
Experience with logistics, warehouse, or industrial equipment is a plus.
Basic knowledge of electronics, electrical circuits, wiring, and hardware components.
Proficient in using a multimeter, soldering equipment, and common repair tools.
Ability to read basic technical manuals and electrical/electronic diagrams.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
Electrical or technical certifications, such as an electrician or electronics technician certification, are preferred.
Basic computer skills and ability to document repair activities accurately.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work shifts and overtime when required.
Physically able to perform warehouse-related work, including lifting equipment and working in various positions as needed.
