Job Description
Summary: Jackson National Life Insurance Company (Jackson) is a leading provider of retirement planning products and services. They are seeking a Valuation Analyst I responsible for providing accurate valuations of securities held in portfolios and validating significant market value movements.
Responsibilities:
- Accurate and timely submission of prices for all securities into the accounting system
- Researches and validates various pricing exceptions and provides appropriate support
- Coordinates and communicates with brokers, sub-advisors, vendors and other stakeholders to ensure accurate pricing
- Answers inquiries from accounting staff on pricing and security set up issues
- Creates various daily and month-end reports for various internal and external stakeholders
- Gathers and gains confirmation of material for internal and external audit matters
- Supports senior analysts with research, validating various market events and developments, providing appropriate support and documentation
- Works to enhance current processes
- Researches and resolves ad hoc requests from management and other departments
- Performs other duties and/or projects as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, or equivalent business related experience required
- 0-2+ years of work experience required
- General knowledge of financial markets and complex securities
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and procedures
- Advanced MS Excel skills required
- Good PC skills including MS Word, Access, and other relevant department software
- Must be detail oriented, organized and able to prioritize work to meet deadlines
- Must be able to work independently or as part of a team
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Good analytical skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- SunGard InvestOne knowledge a plus
