Talent Acquisition Specialist
Overview
Join Apex Service Partners and Help Build the Best Home Services Teams in the Nation
Are you a recruiter who refuses to wait for great candidates to apply? Do you thrive on the hunt, love building connections, and get energized by filling roles others call "impossible"? If you're resourceful, competitive, and relentless in your pursuit of talent, keep reading.
Apex Service Partners is a national network of premier HVAC, plumbing, and electrical companies united by a commitment to excellence, growth, and exceptional service. We're searching for a Talent Acquisition Specialist who can help fuel that growth by finding and attracting top-tier talent in one of the most challenging hiring markets in the country.
This isn't a recruiter role where you'll sit back and manage incoming applications. Our most successful recruiters are creative sourcers, relationship builders, and talent hunters who know how to find great people even when they're not actively looking for a job.
Location: Pittsburgh, PA - primarily based in our West Mifflin office, with occasional travel to nearby partner locations, including Cleveland and Plum, for hiring events and recruiting support.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Partner with hiring managers and operational leaders to develop aggressive, results-driven recruiting strategies.
- Proactively source and recruit passive candidates through networking, social media, referrals, community partnerships, trade schools, industry events, and direct outreach.
- Build and maintain talent pipelines for hard-to-fill field and leadership positions across HVAC, plumbing, and electrical trades.
- Own the full recruiting lifecycle, from sourcing and screening through offer acceptance and onboarding.
- Continuously identify new and creative ways to generate candidate flow in highly competitive labor markets.
- Represent Apex and our partner brands at job fairs, hiring events, trade schools, and community outreach events.
- Deliver an exceptional candidate experience while moving quickly and maintaining strong communication throughout the process.
- Track recruiting metrics, evaluate sourcing effectiveness, and adjust strategies to achieve hiring goals.
What You Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
- Proven recruiting success in a fast-paced environment; skilled trades, construction, or service industry experience is strongly preferred.
- A hunter mentality with demonstrated success sourcing candidates where applicant flow is limited.
- Creativity, persistence, and the confidence to try new approaches when traditional recruiting methods aren't enough.
- Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and networking skills.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple openings simultaneously.
- Experience with applicant tracking systems and recruiting technologies (iCIMS preferred).
Who Thrives Here? This role is perfect for someone who sees recruiting as a sales and marketing function, not an administrative one. Our best recruiters are curious, competitive, relationship-driven, and relentless in their pursuit of great talent. If you're energized by sourcing, networking, and finding exceptional candidates where others aren't looking, you'll fit right in.
What We Offer
- Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits package
- Professional growth opportunities throughout Apex's expanding national network
- A high-impact role where your work directly influences company growth and success
- A collaborative, people-first culture focused on winning together
- Employee discounts through our partner organizations
If you're ready to hunt, build, and make a lasting impact, we want to hear from you. Apply today.
