Job Description
The Quality Assurance Analyst is responsible for ensuring that the products and services provided by the company meet the required quality standards. This individual will play a critical role in testing software applications, identifying defects, and suggesting improvements to ensure customer satisfaction and compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Test Planning & Design
- Analyze business requirements and technical specifications to develop detailed test plans and test cases.
- Collaborate with the development and product teams to understand functionality and establish clear quality standards.
- Create, review, and update test documentation including test cases, test scripts, and test data.
Test Execution
- Execute manual and automated tests to identify software bugs, issues, and areas for improvement.
- Conduct regression testing, performance testing, usability testing, and functional testing across platforms.
- Track and report defects, ensuring proper documentation and communication of the findings to the development team.
Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure that defects are effectively identified and resolved.
- Provide feedback to improve the functionality, user experience, and performance of the product.
- Participate in sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives in an Agile environment.
Quality Assurance Processes
- Contribute to the development and refinement of QA processes, tools, and methodologies.
- Stay up to date with the latest trends and advancements in software testing, automation, and QA practices.
- Ensure that all products meet internal quality standards and external compliance requirements before release.
Reporting & Metrics
- Prepare detailed reports on test results, metrics, and performance indicators for management review.
- Monitor product quality and implement strategies for continuous improvement.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field
Proven experience as a QA Analyst or similar role in software testing
Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and processes
Experience with automated testing tools (e.g., Selenium, JIRA, Postman)
Proficiency in manual testing with a keen eye for detail
Understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Strong communication and collaboration abilities
