Plumber Assistant at Iredell Memorial Hospital in Statesville, NC

Apply Job Type Full-time Description Duties include assisting the Plumber with repairs, installations, preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of the various plumbing systems within the hospital. The Plumber’s Assistant will assist with general maintenance of the buildings and grounds; the Plumber’s Assistant will make minor repairs on equipment when instructed to do so. Has no access to patient health information. May have access to medication storage areas (excluding controlled substances) as related to job responsibilities. Shift: M-F, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, plus call Requirements High School diploma preferred and general maintenance abilities. High School vocational training beyond high school is recommended. Must have one year of plumbing experience or work experience in related fields.
Must be familiar with building maintenance techniques, equipment and operation of heating systems, refrigeration, associated electrical systems, fire and safety regulations and procedures. Must be able to determine when to call in outside technicians who can assist in the repair of malfunctioning equipment. Must possess full range of body motion to pass basic FIT test for position to include walking, kneeling, standing, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, reaching and sitting for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds
